Based in the outdoor shopping mall of Waikoloa Village. Plenty of free parking.
Interior
Nicely decked out and probably has a reputation for fine dining as other people were well dressed. The kitchen is open for everyone in the restaurant to see.
Service
Service was prompt to start with. Different people serve up the food to the waiters. Service was really lacking by closing time though. They were far more interested in going home than helping the last diners get out first.

Restrooms were clean and tidy.
Review
Having come back down from the summit of Mauna Kea on a Saturday evening we were planning on going to a well rated restaurant in Waimea called Daniel Thiebaut. We were dismissed as quickly as we entered from that place though because 9pm was too late to serve customers! The kitchen was still open but they were prioritising their Sunday Brunch customers over Saturday evening customers. This kind of business mentality really makes me question the great reviews there. Out of desperation we phoned around to see if any restaurants were still open and serving and not too far away on the Kilua Kona coast was Roy’s Restaurant in the Waikoloa village.
The place had a very hard american irish kind of feel to the furniture and the service was very welcoming, very fast and very helpful. Before we knew it our drinks had arrived which were fantastically fresh. The Edamame was far too salty but the strater platter was incredible. The reinvention of typical Asian starters was very clever and made my taste buds go crazy. My expectations were now very high and then everything just went to pot. The service began diminishing. I was given a dirty fork and it took an age to replace. The main courses were really bland and nowhere near as exciting as the starters. My chicken was so bland it may as well not have been pan roasted. My wife’s portion of ribs was amazingly huge but the seasoning was non existent and the sauce very plain. The real joke of the night was the Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé which had nothing melting at all. the menu stated that it had a hot molten centre and the video clearly shows that it did not. To round things off for the evening all the staff disappeared and it became increasingly difficult to try to pay up so that we could leave. Perhaps it was because we were the last guests of the evening but I always believe a restaurant should be as good for any customer at any time. Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill started really well and just fell flat on it’s face – very disappointing end to something so promising.
